Journal-Thrust Bearings

Bearings with only axial forces. This category of bearings, unlike only journals in the walls, is the Babbitt and it is installed on the walls. These bearings are widely used to contain light loads and as passive bearings in turbines and compressor, it is the responsibility of the revers axial forces to with stand that occasionally occur. The load bearing capacity of this bearing is lower than other axial bearings.
